Dasara Games: Inauguration by PV Sindhu on the October 1st, 2019.
As part of the Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara Celebrations, Dasara Games have been organized. During the inauguration of the Dasara festivities on the 29th of September at Chamundi Hills, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri B S Yediyurappa will also inaugurate the Dasara Games Torch, thereby signaling the start of the event. On the 1st of October, 2019 at 4 pm, Badminton World Champion PV Sindhu will inaugurate the Dasara sports meet.
The Dasara Sports Subcommittee has decided to conduct the State Dasara Sports Festival in 30 different sports centers across Mysuru from 29-09-2019 to 06-10-2019. Around 5000-6000 sports persons from different parts of the state are expected to participate in the sports meet.
From the date of the inauguration of the Sports Torch to the date of the inauguration of the Dasara Sports Meet, the Torch will travel across the Mysore Districts of T Narasipura, Nanjangud, HD Kote, Periyapatna and Hunsur Taluk on 29-09-2019 and 30-09-2019 and will arrive to Mysuru on the 01-10-2019 and travel across various localities of the city. Later, on the same day at 4.30 pm at Chamundi Vihar Stadium, the Flames will be merged to the Torchlight pillar.
The sports meet will be held at Chamundi Vihar Stadium, Mysore University, Manasa Gangotri Indoor Stadium, Maharaja College, Yuvaraja College Indoor Stadium, Mysore Tennis Club, Chamarajapuram, N.I.E. College of Engineering, J.C.E. Engineering College Indoor Stadium.
Athletes participating in the State Dasara Games were previously provided with accommodation in choultries. This year, Residential housing/ hotel accommodation has been arranged to all the participating male and female athletes from all districts of the state. Food arrangement for the participating athletes has been done at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry, Vinobha Road, Mysore, from 30-09-2019 night to the morning of 05-10-2019.
Clean drinking water is provided at all sports venues, dining and lodging areas. All athletes participating in the event will be provided with local transportation between lodging, food venue and sports meet venue. Sports uniforms will be provided to all the athletes participating in the Games.

On 29/09/2019, 12.30pm at KRS Backwaters, Hosa Hunduari (Blue Lagoon), Sri V Somanna, Hon’ble Minister of Housing and Minister In-charge of Mysore District will inaugurate the event, in the presence of Shri Pratap Simha, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Mysore Lok Sabha constituency and Sri GT Deve Gowda, Hon’ble MLA, Chamundeshwari Legislative Assembly constituency. Hon’ble Lok Sabha Members, Vidhana Sabha members and people’s representatives will participate.
On the same day at 4.45 pm at Kuppanna Park, Mysuru, Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri BS Yeddyurappa will inaugurate ‘Sadruda Bharatha matthu Makkala Kreedaranga,’ Sri V Somanna, Hon’ble Minister of Housing and Minister In-charge of Mysore District will inaugurate ‘Wall Climbing.’ Shri Pratap Simha, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Mysore Lok Sabha constituency will address the gathering, Sri Nagendra L, Hon’ble MLA, Chamaraja Legislative Assembly constituency will attend. Hon’ble Lok Sabha Members, Vidhana Sabha members and people’s representatives will participate.
The Cyclothon event will be held on 06-10-2019 at 6.30 am. For Men 100km, the route map: starting from Bannur Junction, turn left onto Ring Road, pass through Gargeshwari – T.Narasipura, travel for 5km from Moogur. Turn back to Moogur – T. Narasipura Ring Road, Turn Left-Through Lalitadripura – Left in front of the J.S.S. Naturopathic Clinic, Hiwalk turn left – Terminate at Devi lake on the Chamundi hill.
For Women 50km, the route map: Start from the Moogur – Kollegal circle – through the Moogur – Gargeshwari, T. Narasipura Ring Road, Turn Left-Through Lalitadripura – Left in front of the J.S.S. Naturopathic Clinic, Hiwalk turn left – Terminate at Devi lake on the Chamundi hill.
