“Calendars for a Cause!” was started  with only one purpose, to make a difference, however small! Today everybody is busy with their own problems and worries, but there are people in the world who have to fight against evils such as poverty, illiteracy, malnutrition, etc. When this is the case, being the more fortunate isn't it all of our duties to help those in need? But at the end of a tiring day it is much easier to accept that the problem is too big for us to solve and there is nothing we can do. But it is not, little drops of water make a mighty ocean! So let us start, and as MJ said "Let us make it a better world for our children and our children's children!”

As the name suggests we started “Calendars for a Cause!” so that each year we can concentrate on a different cause and try and alleviate some social problem as much as possible. Early on, we realized that education was of prime importance for any family to be snatched out from the hands of poverty. A family with even one literate son or daughter was much better off than one consumed by the darkness of illiteracy. That is why the year 2012 will be celebrated as the year of “Education”. With this goal in mind we have decided that the proceeds of these years "Calendars for a Cause!" will go towards providing at least a few kids and communities with a better education.

We brought together a bunch of amazing photographers and designers and created a desktop calendar. Please buy a calendar and start the New Year on a noble note. About the Cause

As the name suggests “Calendars for a Cause!” is basically a calendar for a cause. The proceeds of this initiative will go towards the cause, more on the cause in a bit. We brought together photographers and designers from various genres of life to make this beautiful calendar. The team of “Calendars for a Cause!” realized early on that education is one of the most vital of necessities to alleviate people and their families that have been suffering poverty for generations and generations. We realized that education was the wings that let them sore out of the darkness of poverty. That is why the year 2012 will be celebrated as the year of “Education“. With this goal in mind we have decided that the proceeds of these years “Calendars for a Cause!” will go towards schools. We hope to help kids in need of books, pencils, shoes or clothes. We hope to provide really downtrodden schools with infrastructural help.

Causes:

The proceeds from the “Calendars for a Cause!” campaign 2012 will tentatively go towards the following:

Building a library in the KS Garden Slum for underprivileged kids and the community as a whole. This will be along with a group of enterprising St Joseph’s College students.

A school in Ramabai Nagar, Mysore, has about 300 kids from families of coolies and manual labourers! Extremely bright kids but the entire school is housed in three small rooms. We hope to extend whatever support possible to help these kids and the community as a whole.
